If you're looking to source your own skins try Gordon Choisy in Paris or Omni Leather in Texas.   Gordon Choisy is a subsidiary of Hermes and Omni provides skins to Roggweiler which I believe is also

I was at Gordon Choisy in 2008-9 and if I remember correctly a smaller skin which would be appropriate for a pair of shoes was about EU $ 1,500.00

I wager that this is where G & G source their skins.
