I have also eyed those G&G's monks before, the look of the buckle and positioning of this make it stand out. I would get mine with a smaller medallion
I only want one more pair of black and I am not sure whether to go for these of the classic cap toe's that Luk Cha just got
What do you think ?

l can't wait until l join the Gaziano & Girling 100 club and wear some of the best looking and well made shoos on the planet. They'll be worth every cent and be a complete privilege to wear. lt will be the ultimate experience and dream come true. Why buy rtw when you can have perfection instead!
There is a lovely pair of c&j single monks in whiskey in the local shoe shop. Down from 300 to 95 quid. Tried them on and they fitted perfectly but the colour was just to loud. Also i have realised i don't like pointy, chisel toed. Or what i'd call equestrian influenced lasts. Shame, if any of you on here fancy a bargain i can always go and get a photo of them and do the middleman thing.

You can only get a size 12? What last is it on and what is the name of the model?
I liked monks from years back. Still got an old single black pair of chisel toes I might revive.
I always wanted a pair of brown doubles, but when the iGentts latched on I got spooked, but Meister sent me a nice pair of Peal for BB, brogues, double monks. Don't wear them much as I've been pulling back a notch or two on the dandy / flamboyant in my old age.
I couldnt care less what people think in one way, in another I want to be George Smiley and pass quietly but have a behind the scenes regime changing effect. Or something.
Bah , that wholecut, plain sleek look is for losers.
Not as classy as the others i posted. The first pair are called the Monkton. Which unfortunately I can't get.
There are a lot of Barkers and Cheanys also in the sale, Longwings, Cap-toes, Full-brogues and some half brogues mainly in black leathers, all sizes. Up to UK11

I really like the Lobbs but the firm's lasts are too narrow for me. My budget will not stretch to bespoke at the moment.

I always think the greatest monk is dom perignon.
