I think that list is supporting sellers he knows, maybe not always but in the past he's put up some really shifty looking Partenopea jackets on it from a seller in the US when theres been far better on ebay.

I take it you've not got the Put This On club tie then Bish?

I sometimes look at the site. I don't know why really because I can't remember ever reading anything of note. I seem to recall the tie was very so-so.

Re: "Put This On" blog's Ebay scam

It's hard to begrudge others' right to make money.  They have a heavily trafficked website & a list of loyal followers that would like to buy items on ebay without having to search ebay.  I personally wouldn't pay for the service, but if people will pay, I see no problem with them charging money.

Ironically, once an item is listed on the site, it will undoubtedly go for a much higher price than it would have otherwise.  The value of the listings to buyers (getting a good deal) goes down as they have more users.  Tough Business Model.

Re: "Put This On" blog's Ebay scam

Hey, Jesse from Put This On here. Ran across this as I was googling to remember what Tumblr tag we use for something, and thought I'd reply.

We continue to do two eBay roundups a week that are free. The third is for folks who give us $5 a month.

The value added of the lists, of course, is that we spend a lot of time sifting through eBay so the person who gets the list doesn't have to. It does expose the auctions, but the purpose is to share cool things, rather than get the absolute lowest price. They obviously go for much less than retail one way or the other. And if you want a list that isn't as exposed - well, you can send us five bucks a month. If you're interested in the kinds of things we list in the roundups, then $1 or $1.25 for a list is a bargain, when compared to the time you'd spend running the searches for yourself.

And we don't just list "our mates' eBay listings." The leap of logic required to get there is just silly.

A lovely idea - You should do specialist lists too such as a 'Mod' or a 'Trad' list. Maybe you could charge a bit extra for those as they would be niche stuff ?

Very enterprising of you.
