Skinny silhouette is here to stay?

How long will last the actual skinny silhouette  trend?

Call me cynical but I reckon half the trend for flat pinned down BD collars, and shirts that aren't long enough to tuck in, and, spray on suits, is a way of clothing manufactures to skimp and save on fabric costs. Clothes should be close not tight. Baggy and tight are neither desirable. But you don't stand out it seems unless you look like a dick.

It won't last long. It is profoundly unflattering to most male bodies, as the Buff observed above.

The problem is that these ugly things could destroy the reputation of clean 60s style suit forever (like Armani and Hugo Boss did in 80s with Kent double breasted).

This look - the suit and jacket too small - has been with us for at least 8 years, that's how long I've been in the Netherlands and that's when I first noticed men walking around in jackets too small, as if they were pre-pubescent cat walk models. Evidently, a lot of men quite like the sensation of looking like a twit.

Re: Skinny silhouette is here to stay?

It's just fashion. It's done because it is an easy indicator. Everyone can tell whether your suit is skinny in a glance. The designer can make a lot of different variations to the coat (pockets, lapels, whatever), while still keeping it skinny and thus fitting in with fashion. God knows how long it will stick around.
