Here's something for the Anglophiles. I understand that some men higher up in Britains corporations wear dark navy leather shoes as a sign of their inner circle.
I never got a pair, seems like youd need the stature of E. Green to pull it off. It does intrigue me. I did get a pair of navy leather and white bucksin spectators from E. Green bc the navy leather swatch they showed me was exhalted.
Navy suede might be nice too.
I think the Milanese would approve
Thoughts or facts on the look's origins, opinions on its stylishness?
Perhaps a shoe maker in the know could expound on this and either put the rumor to bed or explain where it all comes from.
Navy shoes is a totally fasinating concept that has highly appealed to me for years. Navy is total style, so much so that i've got Navy bespoke croc shoes on the way from Andrew Mc Donald. l also constantly dream about getting a special order from Edward Green in antiqued Navy calf also.
l can well understand how such shoes are in inner upper class circles and i've heard about it before too.
Thinking about Navy shoes almost gets me almost as excited as a beautiful stunning woman that is half my age. Brown and Burgundy shoes are nice, but navy blue would be sooo much better. Sure, you don't wanna have too many blue shoes, but blue is just sooo much more beautiful to look at.
Hmmmmm -
Still sounds wrong to me!
If it's true it must be a 'City' thing, not an English upper class inner-circle thing. The two are very diferent over here.
Interesting, though.

Did anyone ever find an answer to this?
Is it linked to Freemasonry?
I was being serious, in the question.
I´ve got navy blue calf and white nubuck co-respondent/spectator shoes on in my piccie. I also like blue suede but I would not wear anything like this to any kind of formal, professional or business event.
l've really gone off navy leather shoes, l have no desire to own them any more, but a navy suede wholecut could be nice.
Ishhy: that's a nice shoe.
These new shades at Allan Edmonds are nice though that last is a pest (5). They are cheaper too because they are unlined. http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF4025_1_40000000001_-1
