FNB for Esquire

I just reread FNB's essay on Trafalgar suspenders. I can't remember when I have read anything so elegant on the subject of men's clothing. It astonishes me that no one has offered FNB a column in some magazine, given the plethora of men's supposedly style mags, and given the goofy tastelessness that inhabits all of these publications. I hereby demand that FNB be given a column in a "Lad" magazine. the youngest generation may be unworthy, but can't we bestow anything upon posterity?

If nominated I will not run, if elected, I will not serve.

Just about any publication is looking for a commercial piece. This website is meant to be a gift for people who want to discuss clothes without anyone trying to influence them for ulterior purposes.

Thanks for the thought though.

Oh, and Chris, what makes you think the 100,000 or so words on the front page dont already constitute a book?

Hard to believe you don't have a book in you.

Re: FNB for Esquire

What one could do, were one so inclined, is bypass the idea of the commercial by going the old New England Brahmin route and have something privately printed.  They way clubs still do and society people used to do.   A very different ethos I would think from today's "vanity" press.  But perhaps Bosthist will have more insight on the ethos behind it all.   There are an amazing number of small private printers in New England that do quality work.

By the way Tom2 to the 5th power, you should write something up.  Often your snipet leave many of us wanting to read more.  I liked your stuff on the old prep website as well.  Come to think of it Skip had some great posts there too.  My dirty secret is I agree with the old boy on most cultural issues.  Esp. those relating to his screed on money and vulgarity.

Re: FNB for Esquire

FNB should definitely get something bound and published on paper.
