I like my Alden shoes. The Barrie and Van lasts fit my feet well and I've had very few quality control issues. Out of a dozen pair ordered over the past few years I've sent one pair back as defective.
Who makes a better shoe in the $500-600 price range if you have a very wide foot?

^LOL! All true, you wear Alden Longwings in a cordovan #8 (or whatever) and it has a snub-nose ungainliness and resembles the snout of a duck-billed platypus.
Their traditional saddle oxford doesn't suffer from this afflication though.

Chicago's favorite basement-dwelling hot-mom-owning bachelor Trad is coming to NYC and promises to be "straight" for his 2-week visit:

FNB and other local sharp observers of the male species will be able to recognize Dparm, as he's also promised to wear his new L.L. Bean Signature Platinum Elite Mark VII Pro+ handsewn mocs. I love this guy. Someone is paying him to come to NY and do some dirty job, but he has to stay in Hoboken. Drip suggests he visit the "Rhinelander", which is I guess how members of the "New York design community" refer to the Polo store. Many recommendations include the regular Temples but also chain stores like Uniqlo and of course Orvis, the most important stop for anyone visiting NY. Drip also suggests Sabon (or is it Sav-On?) to buy something for his lady. Bit I know who Dparms' lady is, and my advice is to get his hot mom some thongs at a Victoria's Secret, if they even have one here.
All shoes are too expensive, but the spirit of Cruiser lives on:
"If you're looking for a comfortable and passably attractive wingtip I would recommend (I have a pair on my feet currently) Rockport's Almartin wingtips. Without a doubt my go to day to day shoe. They retail for around $100 bucks, but can regularly be had for around 65-70 dollars."

One of the regular Trolls at Andy's, whose usual focus is on suits or wedding ties, tries to get them going with a discussion of bespoke shoes in NYC:

Gil/Fxh: Until the full data set is available, you guys seem on the money with those iGent percentages. But I don't see anything about Youth Pastors - care to speculate?
