http://www.styleforum.net/t/292882/buying-a-monocle

"Does anyone here own a monocle? I'm looking to buy one, not as part of daily wear by any means but for those special occasions that require one. I'd like it to be something that I would own for a couple years, so not cheaply made."

Troll methinks!

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

Most anything I had to say relative to Cruiser can be found in the notorious 3-roll-2 thread linked above. Even though he has been gone for the better part of a year, I think Andyland has yet to recover from his destructive presence. As I had surmised long before, I did learn, on excellent authority, that Pags was his foremost champion and resolute defender. This was, I suspect, an excellent example of the veteran-worship rampant in contemporary America, which we have discussed elsewhere in this forum.

It is interesting that since that thread, I have gotten four suits and four sport coats. All of them have been 3-roll-2 although this was not done to spite Cruiser, regardless of what one may think. Actually, the guy made some cogent points occasionally, but on balance he was an argumentative, obnoxious pest.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

Andyland went down hill after Manton, Cusey and Kabbaz took control. Their tactics were so unfair and heavy handed that all the decent posters left and never came back. Dozens of posters left, and so did the excitement and knowledge. They know it too (everyone except Andy who was always in lala land), but naturally nothing was said. Medwards would well be aware, but he says nothing.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

I posted what I thought was a funny picture over on AAAC with what was obviously a joke to go with it. Kabbaz scolded me, took down the photo, banned me from posting, and ignored my PMs for several days. I finally got restored, but by then I had tired of the tyrants and douchebags on both SF and AAAC. They are so busy giving the anointed few hand jobs and hating on noobs it makes me sick.

I did see good examples of CR's work but it was a while ago now.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

I'm ashamed to admit that I've in the past cut up some very nice silk ties that got stained and occasionally shoved them in my breast coat pocket. They have been abandoned for sometime.

I'm not all that enthusiastic about pocket hankies at the moment. But my favorites are a few women's hankies that I did get on sale.

Perhaps you, FNB, shooey and others could give me a referees report so I can join AAAC. I hear there's a vacancy now that cruiser has left the building. I'm sure my plebian tastes would be welcome.

An insane post about what a guy should buy his kid to wear for pledging a frat, or something.  Or, "What kind of cheap, shitty, old man clothes that he will never wear should I force my son take with him to school?"

A deep and life-changing discussion about whether a man spotted at a church in Texas on Sunday is mentally deranged for wearing a madras tie in March:

Bargain of a lifetime: AE recrafting on sale for $99.99!  (Gil, good opportunity to turn those Delrays into suede Double Monks):

AndyDandy has his rig rotation planned out one month in advance, while most of you saps aren't entirely sure if you'll still have a job at the end of the week:

Sweaty, hard-breathing, and undoubtedly hirsute English guy hates deodorant and wants to wear pads under his shirt. I am almost ready to weep:
