Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

Australia is the king of high prices. Our bills are some of the highest in the world, our clothes are priced at crazy prices (2 - 4 times more than U.S), our food prices are some of the world's highest, and our houses are some of the most expensive in the world. lt's a very very expensive place to live. Living in London or New York is childs play mate. The average millionaire lives a very ordinary life over here. Earning 150K a year still gives you a paupers life where you barely make ends meet.

A non-Andyland inane article -

Perhaps the ugly blandness of the iGents is actually preferable to this.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

The Shooman (me) tries to be a nice guy and make some constructive criticism on a ladies clothing choices, but everyone gets really sensitive and kicks the shit out of me for the next two pages. Holly shit...i'll keep my mouth shut in future. l thought people would be adult about this instead of sulking like children. l did mean well.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

FNB--I've been following that thread for a few years and have never seen a hint of a reaction like that, with the damsel in tears vowing to never post in Wonderland again, and the angry crowd ready to scuff up Shooey's longwings pretty bad. They'll be referencing this incident for years, I'm sure.
By the way, Rue, the Arizona MILF of an uncertain age is advertising her availability.  If any of you louts are still single, by some rare chance...

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

That Fedora Lounge is weird.

They spell "accoutrements" wrong in the thread title.

There's a guy dressed as an early 20th century transit worker. He made his badge out of clay.

There's another oddball in an elevator wearing six-inch turnups on his jeans and a pair of sneakers he must have made from blown tractor trailer tires, salvaged from the side of the Interstate when he was out doing his community service for saying icky things to girls in elevators.

Yes indeedy Bob, you betcha, that's some kinda weird on that Fedora Lounge.

Otter : Take it easy, I'm pre-law.
Boon : I thought you were pre-med.
Otter : What's the difference?

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

I have followed the Fedora Lounge off and on for years since I like to wear hats.  I can't remember the last time I saw a post their that was critical of any member.  No matter how strange something is other members seem to give encouragement while trying to kindly steer someone in the right direction.  Forums like the Fedora Lounge make it more difficult to have open and honest discussions.  Sometimes you don't help anybody by trying to be too nice.  The Shooman's post wouldn't be taken badly anywhere else but I don't think it was what the posters there were used to.

Most of the posters there seem pretty decent but there are a few that I find creepy and I hope to never meet in person.

I'm trying to help you, I'm trying to help you to have standards. I'm trying to make you know that the world isn't pleased to see you. You're ugly and superfluous and ignorant and you should be frightened and meek and grateful.
