Not sure, was it Aristotle who said that the decline in libido as he aged was like being released from bondage to a madman ?

Charlie Chaplin was still frisky at 73 on the other hand...

Seattle? Isn't the dress code for smart academic casual a flannelette checked shirt, worn over a ripped black t shirt, and outside a pair of nondescript blackish torn jeans and big boots, with a woolen beanie ?

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

Certainly "renewable energy and business" is much more counterculture than academic administration. In fact I think most of the Beat poets were in "renewable energy and business." "Renewable energy and business" is a euphemism for "heroin sales and transport," right?

Only on Andyland have I seen anyone connected to higher education worry about dress codes. Most academics are so self absorbed that they have no idea what anyone else is wearing, and most academic administrators seem to move through the world in a gentle fog and would not dream of commenting on or even thinking about another person's clothing, lest they invite legal action.

Anyway, here's a GHOULISH Friday the 13th post to start your spooktacular weekend with a scream:

Monsieur wishes to know whether it would merit Monsieur's time to dig up Monsieur's recently deceased friend in order to take his Zegna suits. Might Monsieur execute a double economy and sell Monsieur's friend's remains to a local resurrectionist or medical school?

Andymen get big boners as they talk about bosomy blonde Tom James salespeople (kudos to poor ol' Bjorn, who points out that being a woman does not preclude being good at sales or knowing about men's suits - oh Bjorn, I have been unfairly cruel to you!). Eventually they decide to cut out the MTM middleman and go directly to a strip club, a decision that we can all applaud. I know I have had great success at the Gentleman's Clubbe by holding up a five dollar bill, beckoning to a gamine waitress or dancer, and then, as she comes closer, whispering, "I didn't pay retail for any part of my outfit - in fact, I got this blazer by raiding the deceased's closet at a wake!" Strippers appreciate thrift.

lalaland, the dumbest guy on the forum, buys a kind of neat ivory herringbone blazer and then asks a bunch of nerds what to wear it with. They get fixated on Jovan's suggestion of a knit tie.
