Re: Alexander Olch Ties

I met Alexander about a year ago. Gave him my card but never heard from him. He has a workroom in lower Manhattan.

It seems he has some interesting tie fabrics with which he does custom work.

A leather strap makes a nice change from a chain...
I have an Edward Green one with Silver T-bar. Never worn it.
They're for racing and all that.
Mine's brown but they did them in yellow, green, red, black, etc., back in the late 90's in the Burligton Arcade shop, London, W1.

People buy me odd presents.

I didnt realize the preps were stupid enough to wear a cashmere cable sweater under a madras jacket. Is that for the Vineyard in August or for a marlin hunt off of the Bahamas?

I'd say that look was very 'Trad'...

Pile it all on!

I hope he's wearing Bean boots too...

Re: Alexander Olch Ties

I agree the ensemble is quite confusing.  It's a winter summer blend!

Since I got this thread off topic, I'll get it back on...

I like several of the ties on the Alexander Olch site.  I have a thing for casual ties made out of wool and cashmere.  It increases the opportunities for tie wearing as I can wear them with odd jackets.
