Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117681-First-ever-Brooks-Brothers-purchase.-Rate-my-buys!
An iGent with a "wrestler's-type build" asks Andyland to "rate" his purchase of some perfectly ordinary clothing from Brooks Brothers; he also reports being "thankful and blessed" that he was able to buy these clothes despite the economic downturn; to help us understand the extent of his blessing he includes the price of each item and a comprehensive total. This rivals the ancient thread in which the Andymen tallied the cost of the items that they carried around in their pockets for banality.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117764-Help-with-new-wardrobe
A person who "graduated medical school" in the Cayman islands wants advice for what he should buy for his new career working with Dr. House at "University" on the exotic US mainland. He reports, "Im a tough fit 6'1 255 right now (dropping lower), athletic, muscular build 46-48 chest with a 36-38 inch waist, wide shoulders, very tough to impossible OTR fit." This is even more interesting than it is plausible.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117763-Estate-Sale-Find-Vintage-Florsheims
This is pitiful - an iGent has raked a pair of green cloth slippers out of the bones at an "estate sale" and now wants to know if they're "worth anything."

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117754-Alternative-to-knitwear.
Someone please explain to me what this person is asking. Does he not understand how to wear a sweater? Is there something mystifying for him about the art of coats? Why is he so coy about typing the phrase "down jacket?" Was he raised by that chickenwire frame that noted behaviorist Harry Harlow developed as part of his scientific inquiry into monkey torture?

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117771-Thrift-Store-Score!
The Trads institutionalize bragging about fantastic feats of "thrifting," like the time Trip pulled the fire alarm in Goodwill so that he could snatch a pair of near-mint irregular Alden tassell loafers away from a Guatemalan family.

http://www.askandyaboutclothes.com/forum/showthread.php?117351-Headware
The Trad equivalent of our thread asking about the Fedora Lounge is titled "Headware?"

A LL member is asking advice on how to deceive one of his tailors -

http://thelondonlounge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10714&p=64052#p64052

A Costi wannabe chips in with this pseudo crap.

"TCW, Trousers, though important, are temporary. They will be gone when you are gone. Truth is lasting. Your soul will still have it long after your body and your trousers are dust. Try to secure the cloth without revealing your intentions. If you must disclose them and cannot bring yourself to do so (temperance is a virtue as well) then wear the casual trousers that you like to the fitting and communicate your requirements via the casual example. The tailor will likely surprise you. You will never regret it even if you do not like the new trousers. I cite the wise counsel of Laertes in Hamlet. He gave good advice on clothes for sure; but this above all "...to thine own self be true...".

Where does Alden find these sad losers?

More crap from Costi - Zen Dress! - http://thelondonlounge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=10715

He even tries to link it to Beethoven and Mozart in today's BS - totally moronic!

Mr. Doyle, that is from item number five, the fantastic feats of thrifting.  I rarely read the source material, and wonder how you get through it, but I had to know if Trip actually pulled that fire alarm.

I'm trying to be charitable on this photo, but the wife's hairline seems really, well, high.

Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

Was there a reason, perhaps personal experience, you suggested Propofol instead of Oxycontin - which I had previously assumed was the drug of choice for most AAACers?

Vesta, Kimi; Shaunta Martina, Ellen Kozlowski (2009-04-25). "Propofol-Induced Priapism, a Case Confirmed with Rechallenge". The Annals of Pharmacotherapy 40 (5): 980–982. doi:10.1345/aph.1G555. PMID 16638914.

Fuentesa, Ennio; Silvia Garciaa, Manuel Garridoa, Cristina Lorenzob, Jose Iglesiasb, Juan Sola (July 2009). "Successful treatment of propofol-induced priapism with distal glans to corporal cavernosal shunt". Urology 74 (1): 113–115. doi:10.1016/j.urology.2008.12.066. PMID 19371930.
