I say yes.
You?
About 90% of the time that I wear a sportcoat with a tie, and about 25% of the time that I wear a suit. I love them but they are hard to find sometimes in a nice narrow width and the 3 1/4 versions look bad. I wear them in solid, stripes and dots.
Does any1 know if, Tiecrafters can repair, a knitted tie??
I like knitted silk ties, especially the ones with the square end.
Altea makes a few of them.
Double yes. I have two: a brown Charvet and a light lavender Paul Stuart. I plan to get several more.
Tip: Store these ties rolled rather than hung to prevent stretching (courtesy of the book "Chic Simple: Shirts and Ties").

since I dont wear ties other than out at social gatherings, the knit tie is my go-to. The perfect dressy/casual accessory
Cats who wear knit silk ties are hip. Most people wouldn't have the intuition to buy such things, much less wear one.
One of my favorites is a fairly thin horizontal striped burgundy and blue one.

My father had some square-ended ones. I cannot even find them around here, but do have a conventional (is that the right term?) navy one.
Charvet makes knit silk ties, but limited to just a few solid colors. Still, a grey suit and navy blue Charvet knit tie would be the epitome of understated elegance, IMO. Garrick Anderson makes knit wool ties with horizontal stripes that are most like the classic Rooster ties.

Good work, Sir!
I have four or five knits from Paul Stuart. Most of them in medium to dark earth tones. Paul Staurt always features several in their catalog which if you do not already get, I suggest signing up for. As featured in their catalogs, knit ties look best with a jacket or a more casual suit like a plaid or windowpane.
Y'know, it's been nearly four days since I emailed TC about repairs and adjustment to knit ties, and I've yet to hear from them. Perhaps I should Seek Justice. . . .

Thanks to you too, Chris -
I make my own entertainment in life it's true, but I honestly do think that you have a good look.
Fine if you're in Italy or in New York (see Mr. Rubinacci's tie on SF from the mafoofan blog and see all recent issues of Davide Cenci catalog). Less fine if you live in the Midwest, where your wife thinks they're "weird" and your partner asks where you lost the other half of your tie. I grow weary of these comments. Anybody want a trade a newish navy tie for two Hermes square end knit ties (black and dark brown)? Might be fun. PM me if interested.
Regards,
Steven

I don't like the really skinny ones. I bought one a few months back from here

Sound but elegant and a good 3.5 inch width which is good if you have a broad chest.
Paul Stuart also carries a nice selection. This is one of those items that Ive found to be popular both here with the prep school set and also in England across the board. Although the English seem to be designing one that has a pointed end like a traditional necktie.
