Thanks for the link. Seems like a very strange place with people calling eachother dear, and sir, and my dear boy. If it wasn't about clothing you would think that they were playing some old English murder mystery. I have seen pretense, but that site takes it to a whole other level.

in my opinion, the LL is the best forum
They should have a more clear-cut policy of membership as opposed to their present semi-Reform Club bit of business.

why does one have to be viewed as better or worse. Why not just enjoy them for what they are and take what you can from each( I say this in terms of learning ) One thing I enjoy on this site is the lack of a commercial presence creating perceived conflicts.

Etutee's posts are excellent. Quite an accomplishment for 1 person to write and to scan all those wonderful pictures from delicate, old magazines that are like treasures, and make them available on the Net.
From time to time I read the LL and Styleforum, less so AAAC nowadays.
My problem with the LL is the dual track (possibly there are more tracks) approach to the membership. It is frustrating when you are reading an article and it references other material you cannot see, it destroys the sense of the thread. Equally although the site openly sponsors vendors the reviews of their products are in the hidden part of the site. And then as Incroyable points out the method for progression to advanced member is completely opaque.
I can only talk about the visible parts of the LL, but articles are fairly rare and I find the speech patterns of some members rather contrived.
The content in AAAC and Styleforum is similar so I read Styleforum as the members take themselves less seriously and it has a working search function. Nowadays most of the big contributors have gone from AAAC, and those that remain crosspost their articles into other forums anyway.
I am not unbiased in this but the FNB site has great potential. With the articles in the main site and the the forum there is both content and lively knowledgeable discussion. After all the site is not even two months old and it has already made quite an impact.
I agree, jeeves. Denizens of the other fora seem loath to acknowledge that the amount of valuable clothing related information circulating here is already greater than the others on a daily basis.

How does anyone have time to read all of these forums you discuss?
The pictures you are describing by an etuttee - I'm sorry, what does that mean?

I missed this one.
Even though I have been called into the Admin's office a few too many times, this board is shaping up into the best in terms of content and discussion of ideas.
