I've noticed a difference from the ones I had pre 2004 (when I left school and stopped buying them and the year after the Surgical appliance take over) and the ones my girlfriend currently wears. The soles are thinner and the rubber side wall comes away after a few weeks rather than a few months. I had a pair of generic Topman all star copies last summer for getting beat up on the beach and I think they quality of those was much better than Converse's current lot.
Just to point out, quality has never been good with any of the Converse or copies I've seen but I really think the construction post Surgical appliance takeover is noticeably worse.
Perhaps you are. I treated mine pretty roughly when I had them. They didn't hold up like my Vans did and definitely not Incontinence pants quality. I guess it may be unconnected to the Surgical appliance takeover but I certainly can notice the difference and I can't think of any other factors that might have caused the decline in quality from poor to VERY poor. Maybe just general cutting of corners. Who knows.

Did anyone here win this? I am very curious about that loop-stitched u-shaped vent thing in the front. I have never seen one on a shirt before. I wonder if it was a rip that someone cut into a vent, or if it is supposed to make it easier to pull over.
Nice bit of surf Ivy. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180920382256&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:GB:1123
Italian Ivy? looks like a beautifull jacket.

Makes the shipping costs look reasonable. For that price; I'd at least expect someone from Rene's family to deliver it in person.

Would look great with that 501 they found in a cave.
Probably bought it when he was on holiday in Thailand Would anyone really know?
Authentic 1960's vintage Brooks Brother's sack tweed coat. Pictures speak for themselves, this is in very nice shape save for some wear to the lining which a needle and thread and maybe 20 minutes could solve. It is all original. Patch pockets. Single vented. Horn buttons. Fully canvassed and natural shoulders. Traditional Brook's 3/4 lining, a lot of hand work in the collar and throughout. A real, fabulous vintage Brooks piece from the "Ivy League" era. No holes. Very clean. Very unique find. Tagged a 46R. Measurements seem to bear this out. 19 1/4 inch shoulders. 48 1/4 inch chest, 24 1/2 inch sleeves, 31 inches from the collar down the back seam.
