The laudatory posts concerning mediocre looking Italianate suits is stunning to say the least. And besides, I can frankly say that most of the people who are aspiring to Taste with a capital T look unusually similar to one another, with their scarves knotted a certain way, and their brown shoes antiqued a certain way.

Like Edith Sitwell wrote, "Good taste is the worst vice ever invented", I'd say that trying to achieve that "good taste" is the worst pursuit ever invented.
