Re: Harrisons of Edinburgh

I have more tailored clothes (all from Chan) from Harrison's than any other fabric house. I have:

Two suits both from Frontier fabrics
Two jackets from the P&H Solway book
One jacket from the P&H Glorious Twelfth
One jacket from P&H Thornproof tweed
One jacket from P&H Harris tweed
One jacket from P&H Hartwist tweed

I also have a blazer from a Lesser flannel, but I am pretty sure that was before Harrison's acquired Lesser.

In any event, I am obviously a fan.

Re: Harrisons of Edinburgh

No from my tailor, I think he has it (mainly?) for the cashmere, just one "book" / bunch from the dozens he has. I was looking for a particular blue Herringbone I had seen on someone in Milan and that was the nearest I could find. I got caught by that sudden increase in price (2008?) and we ended up splitting the difference (before he placed the order) as the cost had gone up hugely from what he had originally quoted me, and that had been bad enough!

Harrisons are working on a wool/silk jacketing bunch that I really like.

I note that on the Harrison's website the Porter & Harding Solway collection is conspicuous by its absence. Buff, or anybody, do you know whether they have permanently deep-sixed it?

We had a silk, linen and wool sj in for summer from an italian make, it was my favourite jacket this season, had a great, look and handle.

Re: Harrisons of Edinburgh

Those Herringbone linens are nice but there are Mirage fabrics very similar in design and color.

With the acquisition of W.Bill, there are some very nice fabrics and patterns coming out, including a couple especially to my taste.

Re: Harrisons of Edinburgh

I've got a casual suit in McNutt linen which looks exactly like that 60213 in size and colour. Funny weight, colour and weave for linen. its more a spring/autumn look and feel.
