l have devoted two shoo-threads to two members entirely deserving of their own special thread, but now it's time to open the discussion to all the other members here. Lets talk about shoos.
1).What are your favourite shoo designs (patterns) and styles?
2).What is your favourite colour and leather, and why?
3).What are your favourite brands, and why?
4).Rubber/dianite or leather for the soles?
5).Prefered shoo-construction?
Pictures are welcome if you have the time to do it. Hopefully many blokes will get really stuck into this topic and we can have a really good talk about mens shoes, it's been long overdue.
Hi Shooman
I've been lurking for some time now but think this is the time to come forward because it's like you and I are long lost brothers. Seriously, I am a total shoes addict and I absolutely hate organized sports (with a vengence). There you see.
My current collection isn't very impressive but the goal of this post is to show you what I am working on. I am in the process of making my own fully hand made bespoke shoes and want to encourage you to do the same because I know you want too. Make no mistake this will be the real deal and made entirely be myself. My goal is to aim for the top. I might fall short but I won't give up.
In a few hours I am going to post some pictures of several lasts I have made myself from scratch (fire wood) as well as a few designs. Just as soon as I find out how to properly post pictures.

1. I like plain toe bluchers with double soles — aka Big Fat Bastards
2. I like dark brown calfskin because it looks good with almost everything and it's readily available.
3. Allen Edmonds, because they are readily available and I can afford them.
4. Depends on the weather.
5. I don't know enough about shoe construction to comment, except to say I don't want them glued.
None of that means I don't branch out often — tan shoes, black shoes, the occasional shell cordovan (although I don't have the shell fetish). I have something like six pairs of spectators, which is absurd.
I also like suede shoes, from desert boots to suede wingtips.
And don't get me started on fishing boots.

Bugger off buddy, it's only shoo-talk here sunshine. (said in my grand-father's extra ruff and gruff bushman's voice)

Sorry I do not care for those Moke ankle boots at all.
Shoo, what do you think to Duckers and Sons? I've never owned a shoe that's been much cop apart from a pair of plain-toe'd oxfords by them. And was wondering whether they were regard by shoo lunatics.
Sorry, just general lunatic!
