Another project in the pipeline will be a pair of handwelted bespoke boots from the only person in Australia who makes shoes/boots with standard handwelting, and he also hand stitches the soles on special request. He is the ex assistant to Australia's last master shoemaker, the late George Keoff. He said he will do a pair for me, but it will be STRICTLY AT HIS LEASURE'. He lives in another state, so l will need to do 12 hour drives to see this fellow. l am hoping he will do a pair of hornback alligator boots for me, hopefully ropers. He is very selective who he makes shoes for, so l am keeping him top secret for now. He makes very few pairs these days, so this pair will be a real treasure.
Thanks for the link Shooey.
I thought you didn't find Bruce's last sleek enough. Or am I confusing with another last. I find an Adelaide is really the best on a really sleek last.
Also I really think you should try your hand at a handmade shoe. Then you would no longer have to depend on others which can be frustrating at times (i found this out the hard way). In my area no one - absolutely no one hand welts. It's all glue. tried sending stuff out to be made by others but it's a really long process full of pitfalls.
In any regards keep us posted on the progress.
