J. Crew.
Use it up, wear it out.
No pretensions.
I like this stuff more than Polo or Gant. They seem to know what they are.
It's not 'Trad'.
It's not Ivy League.
It's not 'Building a fine wardrobe of classic menswear'.
It's Preppy stuff to sling on and live in.
When it gets covered in grass stains you throw it out.
Preppy should be throw-away, no?
I quite like this 'classy'-trashy style this afternoon...
You?

JCrew is toning down their men's selection since it doesnt sell as well as they'd like
I think about 2 years ago in Fall/Winter was some of the best JCrew gear I've ever seen from them
The stuff right now is pretty lackluster imo
Kinda pricey for just throwaway, dontcha think?
Sorry...
I'm looking at the Dollar/Sterling rate.
Any other nominations for best Prep?
Preppy gone Ghetto, y'all...

I think the stuff they sell at the Darien Sports Shop. I think they are on the web. and you can find the stuff elsewhere. but Darien, CT is just about the center of where the style thrives. and people shop there, and they pay retail.

I actually enjoy hearing about what is popular today at prep schools ( I spent a year at one way back when and was very disappointed when I found out there were no girls there) I was out of there soon after that particular discovery. the last I heard, maybe 6 years ago, RL was popular. girls liked AF (not the old store) everyone liked North Face. Boys wore shirts from BB, Press and Pink, I never wore a suit and I can't believe anyone does today. Jackets are navy blazers and they used to be Harris Tweed. today they must still be blazers. but I would be glad to hear an update.
