This was bought last summer, also on EBay, for $800.
No way a brooks, everything is different, it was certainly worth a punt though, and i'm not holding you responsible for my expensive loss of 4 pounds!

I've always been baffled by the short sleeve Pendelton. I can't think of a situation or climate where it would be comfortable.
Space.
I work outside a lot in bright winter days, sun belting down no wind and an air temperature of about 5 degrees. Then they make sense. But what makes better sense is having a long sleeve Pendelton with the sleeves rolled up.
Another point to consider, walking outdoors in Winter you get a good sweat on and wool wicks moisture away very well. Cotton doesn't. Once you stop moving and the air temperature hits you, that cold clammy cotton will chill you to the bone very quickly. On the Hills, cotton kills.
Scotland - If the locals don't kill you, the weather will.

Yes I know - Captain Peacock; but this one is in good condition compared to the moth eaten examples that usually turn up.

A Brooks University Shop beauty. Bid price isn't too bad, either.
