The improvement in the adhesion of glues is phenomenal. You only have to look at the pounding my son gives to his skate shoes to know what punishment these glues will take.

Wearing Glued Shoes is like wearing a watch with a battery. Nothing inherently wrong with it. Will serve its purpose just fine in most circumstances. But... YOU know (if you care).
Glued shoes suck. But l will say that pre-Prada Church's used to do an excellent dinner shoe pump on the 80 last. Brilliant design and so strong...virtually indestructable.
I agree about glued shoes. Goodyear is not only glued, but is held together by a thin strip of textile. Amazing, isn't it?
About Church's modern offerings, quality of leather is the other major difference

Hi Shooman I like the pumps - they are quite different from what I imagined. The ones I posted are not mine unfortunately - they were put up on AAAC I think by 'young fogey' Anthony Jordan. I don't think Church's make any pumps today.
