I sort of thought it was Charlemagne's grand-daddy, Charles Martel, who "saved the world from jihadists" at the Battle of Tours.
/\ Never changes, does it? It's always been thus and thus it will always be. Back in 2004 when it first came on my radar with the first stirrings of 'Trad' it was exactly like this then. Since then all the threads have been the same - They come around like clockwork.

Thanks I googled Redondo beach but I have no idea about some of those neighbourhoods. The shoe stuff is just mainstream iGent.

An iGent lawyer plans to open a mid-priced men's store in Baltimore, Maryland. Here's an artist's depiction:

An amazing slap fight between the ever-precious Shaver and the always dour and annoying DocD:

Shaver claims in his scathing ("scathing") response that he writes "with facility." I find this odd, since I always picture Shaver grunting and straining over the keyboard like a man with a poor diet attempting to pass a prize-winning deuce; perhaps he means that he writes "from a facility," a group home maybe?
"from a faculty"?
And its only a short walk to the Del Amo Fashion Center.

Every part of this blog appears to be inane, but this list of sartorial rules, presented in a half-assed Ten Commandments style, is especially precious. The list, which extends to 45 entries (4.5 times better than the original Ten Commandments!) contains enduring wisdom such as:
5. White bucks are badass.
15. Thou shall not wear slip on shoes with a suit. In fact, they should be avoided.
17. Loafers are badass, especially those with bits or tassels.
22. Brown suede shoes are badass.
28. Thou can wear brown suits for business dress.
33. Pocket squares are underrated, underutilized and most importantly they are badass.
42. Style is a state of mind.
He opens the list with this proviso: "The Fine Young Gentleman’s rules are derived from a variety of sources including tradition, classic rules of men’s dress, common sense and personal taste."
And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. And they said unto the mean girls, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not Justin of the Fine Young Gentleman blog speak with us, lest we die.

Dare I ask - what is "badass" - I assume its not a superior "cordovan" nor is it "sprezzatourettes" perhaps its a shoe worn without socks?
