In the future, I'll be sure to take pics close-up of the welts for your viewing. This pair has such a small welt strip. Very narrow. Looks like the goal with these was to put the uppers right above the welt edge. The work on the inside of the waist is spectacular. This is one of 3 pairs of these I've got.
As for the RM Williams, for the price I'm not surprised they cut corners. For $400, a true welted peg construction would be crazy to do. The time that goes into a single pair would be very restrictive. besides, they spend a LOT of money on marketing.
