There used to be a fellow who went under the username of Aportney at S.F and AAAC. This fellow is rumoured to have over 500 pairs of Edward Green alone with countless pairs of John Lobb, Vass and many many other shoos, and that was years ago. He was always posting pictures his shoos...truckloads of pairs every month. He was even rumoured to be asked by journalists to talk about his collection and photograph it, but he declined.
Aportney is an interesting fellow because he was quite different from most high flyers in that he was cheerful, down-to-earth and slightly immature...he never took life too seriously and he had fun with his life and had no worries, and it showed. The guy was definitely happy and had found his peace with the world. To me this fellow is not even from this world, he was sent here on an unfinished assignment and he earned his stripes in previous lives for doing good deeds and was rewarded for his current time here with a blessed happy smooth running life that is termed `on vacation'. Very few people have the privilege to have it all. Many people have good material means, but they lack the grace, happiness and attitude that the people `on vacation' have.
l reckon Aportney has the biggest and best shoe collection in the world. He has virtually everything. Edward Green, John Lobb, St Crispins, Vass, Celeverley bespoke, Scafola bespokes, Alden, Santoni and many many more.
Many people never used to like him (me included) because we always thought he was a showoff, but truthfully l think he was misunderstood. He was keen and a total shoo addict and just wanted to show off his collection because he was proud.
Aye, Sammy, you're only right my son.

I approve of this thread.
His name is APortnOy for starters. I suspect he was sick of carrying the whole load at the SF Shoe Porn thread and expected not unnaturally for other tragics to step up to the plate. Trouble is apart from interesting blokes like T4Phage and a few other boys that task has not been realized. Isshi helps out but then got flamed by a few obsessives for not being modern enough with their boring vanilla shoes as he puts it. Even shoe gurus like GWFII got sick of all the pettiness from types who would not know a shoe from a slipper.
Yes the shoo crowd at S.F are a very fickle bunch and very dumb when it comes to footwear. They are like a bunch of girls in puberty. They are their own worst enemies. Let sleeping dogs lie.
Andrew wasn't it? Yes, he did seem like a pretty nice chap, never had a bad word to say about anyone. And when someone called him out about a particular shoe he always came through, so extensive was his collection.
