I try to match my watches with my cufflinks.
I like dressy watches, mecanical or automatic.
I have 8 watches
With a suit =
An old Omega in pink gold
A steel hampton from B&M.
An all steel Tank from Cartier
A steel Reflet from Boucheron
A steel Master Ultra Thin from J.L.
An old golden Ellipse in white gold from Patek
For casual =
A Diver 100 from Seiko
A military style watch with no brand
I like the 1972 of V.C. and the Aquanaute of P.P. but they are too expensive for me for the moment !

I'm not a watch (nor a jewelry) person, however I do think a that a decent, classic watch is an accessory that every man should have. I wear a Nomos Tangente Date. I tend to prefer German watches, and the Tangente is hands down my favorite watch out there. IMO it has the cleanest lines and the price is very reasonable. I am not fond of ostentatious watches. Currently it has a black cordovan band, however I'm planning on commissioning a dark brown alligator band. I will post pics!!
I wear vintage watches exclusively, and none of that monolithic stuff that I had posted previously.
The NOMOS also had special editions released with various cities, I believe. German watches, like their autos, and other mechanical items, have a special elegant robustness, which altogether shows the Bauhaus roots.

The Nomos Tangente is a very thin, dressy watch - hardly "substantial" enough to be considered "large" - it's considerably more tasteful kand elegant that most watches popularly sold today.
Yes, it seems thin; however, a website states it is 38mm with the crown, which as far as personal taste goes, is very large.
My watches don't exceed 29mm and rectangular watchs about 20mm. Watches sold today are like Jules Vernes's bastards.

What do you people think a gentleman's watch should look like to go with formal or tailored clothes?
I sort of like the Cartier American tank.
Am i the only guy who wears watches?
I know mister Pollock has a watch collection too. Is he too shy to talk about it ?
I have a Hamilton Eugenie for evenings and a Diane for the day. They are very trad.
I am not that fascinated with watches.
I have a basic round white faced, stainless steel Timex with a white dial and arabic numbers.
I have this gold cartier which is also round with a white face and roman numerals. Very flat.
I have a hampton milleis in white gold w/ a black face and a Bulgari Quadrato in steel. Both primarily for wearing at night. I have a couple other watches like the Dunhill DM7 and this Paul Stuart watch I got a long time ago, it is unique with a silver case and a dark grey face presumably based on a French WW1 model.
A watch to me is an element of dress but not of concern.
Ive had and will get again the cartier tank francaise in mixed gold and SS. I also like the Patek Phillipe Gondolo in white gold.
