Re: British Tweed Reinvented from Vintage to Today

Great thread this, I've thoroughly enjoyed reading it and will be out in my game keepers tweed jacket later today.

Re: British Tweed Reinvented from Vintage to Today

I'm looking to forward to the colder weather next week so that I can wear my tweed suits. Does anyone else here wear tweed suits?

^^ O'Connell's has an excellent selection of cavalry twill and whipcord trousers.

Re: British Tweed Reinvented from Vintage to Today

It's ok actually.  The so-called "Agnelli tweed" - you may be able to find a picture of it on London Lounge.  It's heavy (13 ozs iirc) as I believe all Alden cloths are.  I probably wouldn't go through the gamble and extra effort of ordering cloth unseen via the internet again and I'm no longer such a fan of overchecks, but it's a sturdy tweed that'll last a long long time, it's not scratchy, and I probably saved a bit on the tailoring rather than if I had selected from the tailor's swatch books.
