We used to have our own bonfire and fireworks. I especially remember the glowing matches and keep all my milk teeth in such a matchbox. Also Trgongeeves Golf Club (with its old tin hut clubhouse) and Fowey also (courtesy of English China Clays (RIP)) used to put up great displays. Later, Ally Pally was good but the big, organized, public displays now are more concerned with health and safety than smelling the smoke.
