Re: Garish bespoke?

I grew up in Spain and moved to the US for college...I have a house and extended family in Canada, but live most of the year in the US.

I am in my 30s...I also do not know about many brand names in general, except for certain shops I ignore brand names entirely..maybe why I did not know of M&S.

Re: Garish bespoke?

The Linda McMahon analogy is a poor one, a seat of power is different than sartorial choices. It is true though, if you see value in a hobby and it makes you happy then it is of course worth it.

But if the theaters would be empty then you simply need more friends or to get out more. Some humility, son.

Re: Garish bespoke?

In theory 80m on a campaign is a huge waste, and something very odd in a democracy...that said, do you have the 80 million necessary to do the 'I'd rather' thought experiment? Did she think she couldn't win from the start too?

Is it humility that preserves me? This place isn't exactly bustling, if you got rid of everyone who was honest with you, who'd do the posting?

Re: Garish bespoke?

I have no issue with your attitude...I made a remark. You can think anything you like of that remark, and even make a thinly veiled power trip-like comment. It is no matter.

People spend money on outlandish things, nations spend money on outlandish things....the world is a real crazy place. But on a micro-level no one can say spending this or that is wrong or crazy--it depends on how much enjoyment the person gets out of it. The comparison is a little off though, you have many people spending money, rightly or wrongly, for a cause to achieve a certain result. That is on a whole different level than one man buying expensive ties.

Re: Garish bespoke?

Hey Ivanov, do you speak spanish? Being brought up in Spain and all that...
I came back to this thread narcicistically looking for a response to my last post, and it was really hard to find a response (although I finally did find it, from a guy I respect) because there's you picking a fight with every single person on the thread page after page. Oh excuse me, I just saw you in ANOTHER thread, full charm offensive on. I'm having trouble deciding where to place the emphasis on the penultimate 2 words of the last sentence.

So me being Puerto Rican and all that, and you having been raised in Spain and all that... then I see you use a Russian avatar, live in the states, with a family home in Canada (I feel your pain about confused cultural patrimony issues), and being so slight of figure you need bespoke clothing (my problem is the opposite), I feel totally at ease telling you that this forum is more about a certain kind of attitude and wit about comportement than about habillement.
Members are given wide birth (look up Shooey vs the world when it comes to pineal glands) and many flame wars have come and gone, all of them generally entertaining.
Yet you with such a promising resume, for some reason, are failing to hit the mark.

Perhaps the mixture of Russian charm overlaid with the spanish machismo of a youngish slight figured man takes a little fine tuning before it hits its stride in a forum consisting mostly of "mature" englishmen, australians, UK expats, etc.

I'm rootin' for ya kid, just brush that chip off your shoulder, it's weighing you down. Welcome!

Oh yeah, before I forget about the do you speak Spanish bit- Cógelo suave, pero cógelo.

Re: Garish bespoke?

Hi Chevere,
To be frank, I don't really concern myself with what you think of me, and your ideas on decorum I care not at all. Also, I wasn't even talking to you; I suppose it is that same narcissism that has allowed you to inject yourself into said 'fight'. There is no fight, if every exchange ended in agreement there would be nothing worth saying.

As to birthplace, former home, current home, and figure, I do not see why these things need consistency. By the way, we share little in common, I can speak Spanish but probably not your Spanish, and, even so, prefer Basque and have a great fondness for that culture despite my 'origins'. Lastly, there is no Spanish machismo, perhaps you are projecting some of your 'Puerto Rican' spice into this? I am slight after all, in a fight I am most likely to lose.

I hope I have given you enough to entertain your vanity because I have little interest in further useless chatter about myself.

Re: Garish bespoke?

Is this humor, or just blatant fabrication? My sent PMs have nothing untoward in them. Keep the edification to those that think something of you. Perhaps I don't know you well enough but gnat-tish you are.

Re: Garish bespoke?

Thank you for responding specifically and in detail to my post!
And thank you for referencing my vanity and narcissism, as I am a Plastic Surgeon and they are my stock in trade.
And while I sympathize fully with your fatigue about the useless chatter about yourself, I see you still have unbound enthusiasm for useless chatter.
I do find you highly entertaining and it is my fervent hope you are not banned as I look forward to your rants.
So full of injured pride! Not only, but fond of basque culture! Oh my God, I think we harbor a misunderstood true cultural exotic amongst our midst!

You are right, I misjudged you grievously, there is no machismo in your tone. This being a written forum I mistook the tad high pitched shrillness and whininess for insecure aggressive bluster. How stupid of me to have imagined a slight man to have right vocal cord makeup for my image of a basso profundo dangerous IVANOV (the terrible). Imabob seems more like it and I'm glad you changed your avatar as it fits you better. I specially like the angry kitten with the Ninja Turtle mask. Now THAT's a bespoke fit.

And again, thanks for responding to my post as I am having as much fun trolling around with you as I would wrestling you (I wrestled in high school and college).
PIN!
