Duchamp

Am I the only one who thinks they really dropped the ball in recend years, esp. since "broadening" their range?

Re: Duchamp

I bought Duchamp for the first time around 05 or 06, so perhaps you are referring to even older products. The question is where do you see proof of decline in quality or design?

Re: Duchamp

I've not purchased anything from them for a couple of years, but it still looks good gear to me, in fact, the extended range looks better than ever. A move in the right direction.

Re: Duchamp

Duchamp's psychedelic merchandise (not my taste) is very over-priced.

Re: Duchamp

My critical remarks on Duchamp were frowned upon by FNB. My local department store stocks a large range of Duchamp merchandise, including suits and jackets. Nothing would tempt me to part with my cash and I'd be surprised if the jackets were even half-canvassed.

Re: Duchamp

^^ I merely express my personal opinion which has got me banned from other fora. smile  I also recognise that my taste is much more conservative than that of a typical Duchamp customer. Perhaps you can tell us why you want to sell such sartorial treasures.

Re: Duchamp

lol appreciate your response ..

After posting I read somewhere about them being half canvassed ..shame as they talk of the 'highest standards' and so on ..anyone tried their tailored clothing on in particularly their jackets ?

Re: Duchamp

Not my bag at all Bish, I was lucky enough to come across them with the express purpose of selling. I suppose the thing with a tie, is you never know how much the material is worth, sometimes the price can honestly reflect the quality, other times not. I would say on reflection of what we sell in store for £10 less than the RRP the quality is of a marked difference in Duchamp's favour.

Re: Duchamp

I'm never been over keen on Duchamp's geometrics or stripes.

I do like their florals however.

Re: Duchamp

It's the same with Van Buck, Fruity, I have no idea who would buy them, but they do sell, equally loud and geometric.

See this why I say, 'if you would like any assistance or advice on sizing please ask''.'

Then I don't have to deal with post-menopausal men's comebacks! wink

Re: Duchamp

Ties are a tricky buisness.

...sometimes its difficult to see how they'll work in the context of a suit, which is how they must be judged.

Re: Duchamp

OK, I'll bite.
I bought a suit. It is half canvassed.
The pattern on the jacket doesn't match up everywhere, but that never bothered me.
It does feel kind of stiff and the arm holes are kind of low.
I'm really into comfort when wearing a jacket, so not a fan of the stiffness which combined with the low armhole makes the whole jacket move when I move my arm.
I do like the colors.

Re: Duchamp

There was some chatter on here awhile back on the possibility that Duchamp might fold. Hasn't happened and I think they have the online range pretty much spot on: it's rtw English dandyism.
