If only I could find the email Jim sent me, we pretty much plotted out the revival of the tie in the mainstream 3 months ago. Fashion and trend when held up to the light, is really just a big of shit.
Wear ties with suits, wear socks with brogues. Don't tuck your shirt in if you're wearing shorts. That type of thing.

But seriously, join some social club...or become a hobbyist of some sort, NOT a suit hobbyist--you need money to become a suiting hobbyist and it won't get you any positive attention.
If it wasn't for wrestling and a few other hobbies my social circle would be dramatically limited.

Lots of people don't wear ties, many architects I deal with, for instance, don't usually wear ties.
