Wooly type cotton socks. Very comfortable. The shoes are amazing like there were worn 10-20 times and then left hidden in a cupboard for 40+ years

The thing with gemming failure is that it likes to hide in dark places and sneaks up when you least expect it. At least Meister's J&M's will never suffer from it, his are real shoos.
DW posted a picture of some igents highend English shoos that had only been worn on carpet, yet they had gemming failure.
