I think I remember reading at the time of their Drakes purchase that there was some very serious family $ behind those guys. It was in a financial not fashion source. What is not in doubt is that they have some pretty impressive marketing ability, pitched just right. I'm told by people who have visited that they have genuine people skills and certainly for HK and the brands they sell the prices are reasonable enough.

(For Australians  going almost anywhere in the world, except USA and Africa, HK is a re-fuel / stop point - getting a day or half day stopover on a trip each way is no big deal.Not only that there is frequent cheapish airfares of around $700 aud return to HK. Certainly a cheaper way of getting the Worlds Most Perfect Pants off Ambrosi than dealing direct)
