That's worth silly money. BEAUTIFUL shirt.
My advice to those planning on bidding is think of this as a Pendleton board shirt in size S if you plan to wear as an overshirt or a size M if you are wearing over just a T shirt. This shirt will likely suit you best as an overshirt as they fit rather short and broad with relatively short sleeves compared to shoulder width. If I had the money to bid on this I'd push it as far as I could. Rare as hens teeth, they are.
I didn't bid on this, but we shud've respected the one bid rule, some poor bastard may have got a bargin there!
I'm going to be controversial, it's not that nice a shirt. It's rare sure but the check ain't all that and it has a couple of holes in it. I wouldn't bid personally. I agree bop, I'd be a bit gutted if I was bidding on this and then it got flagged on here.

Calm down dear, it's a forum. You're right there is no written rule, but I've frequented a couple of forums where it's the done thing to only flag up buy it now auctions or items with 0 bids on them. I agree with you on the bidding front, I never bid till the last second. All in all it's up to you what you want to flag up on here, there are no rules, but I personally wouldn't flag up a rarity with a bid on it.
If While trawling e bay for myself I spot something that either doesn’t fit me or isn’t my sort of thing but might interest others
I generally pop it on here. I usually get things early so very rarely do they have bids on them. However if i am spoiling chances in auctions for others its the opposite of what i want .In doing so if I am also employing bad etiquette, it’s simple I will stop. It’s no problem as clearly I would never list anything that I am personally interested in anyway.

Gant has a following just like Sero and Troy Guild do.
For me Gant had great collars, relatively fitted bodies (if we're taking Hugger fit) and the sleeves seem to sit well for me. Couple that with the huge range of materials, plaids and the wonderful range of awning stripes make vintage Gant a nice collectable shirt. Plus the labels are fantastic pre 1970's.
I suppose Brooks were better made. Maybe Sero and the like were better made too? I don't have enough experience with them. But I've never had a badly made vintage Hugger. They are great shirts. 'Youthful' is the word I'd use to describe them I guess.
It's when the big things come up really, if there is a say a uni stripe blue Makers then chances are there are loads about, but a rare thing like that Gant means that things start to get a bit sly. I suppose you can always see how many people are watching an item on ebay.
So if it has 1 bid, and 50 watchers, fair enough the price is going to blow up, and you may as well let people know so they don't miss it,
Buy it now stuff is fair game too because it's literally first come first served, also a lot of people lurk on here and it's nice to keep it in the family if you know someone's the size, or is after a rare shirt that's normally when I PM people. Anyway, it's not a hard a fast rule, and I'm not smacking your wrists, it's nice to go out your way to let people know about stuff.
