It's freaking me out that Malcolm Allison is dead and that he died in his 80s. He seemed very much part of my generation. Even the name is modern.

It is freaking ME out that Patrick Moore is dead - as we are nearly the same age! I wonder whether I'll make the big 100 and still be able to pull the birds and sink 8 pints of Tetley's in a session. Very nice short though, agreed, We all had them in the 1970s.

I seem to remember Malcolm Alison was photographed, for Mayfair magazine, in the Crystal Palace changing room baths, bollock naked, surrounded by a bevy of center-fold beauties, holding a cigar and glass of champagne. Some of the team were included in other photos. Can't quite see Arsene Wenger agreeing to such a photo shoot.

The hat is way too big, but during ascot when someone turns up on the day for a hire typically we don't have many left bar the 8'', so I think that must have had half a roll of toilet tisses shoved into it.
