hmm good question .. i guess its because with a fabric which is more tightly woven like a worsted can be sponged more aggressively so its not really the spillage or dirt which is an issue but the process of getting something out of a soft material without damaging the fibres through abrasion ..

have you tried the Harrisons Saltire or similar FNB ? .. believe its a 12 oz cashmere .. also any experiments with angora/wool blends?
