Very witty.
Objectively mechanical timepieces are clunky pieces of junk, quartz is superior in all respects...but one..emotion?
That's the answer that comes up again and again...emotion is why cogs are better than transistors. Seems silly to me, but of course you might be able to more eloquently play up this difference.
Of course, you might think this is an antiquated way of looking at things, in which case it is you not I that has stopped the learning process.
Nice distraction from your witty incoherence...
I bet you are good at shoes though
I cannot say I disagree with you entirely, I am open to seeing things your way; however, you were gushing about Greens once and now are gushing about handmade Santoni.
If the difference cannot be measured or observed, it most likely doesn't exist--and that is certainly the case with shoes. Handmade shoes can be very expensive; if this difference is so hard to discern then you really are just paying for status.
And isshy thinks his watch has a soul, so be wary of his opinion--he might be bonkers

I certainly do appreciate the explanation. How long do these handmade shoes last in comparison to my regular everyday Allen Edmonds? Your handmade shoes can be expected to last a lifetime in comparison to 2-5 years for a pair of Allen Edmonds, is that right?
And then how much more expensive is a pair of handmades compared to a pair of AEs?

But what is soul in a shoe?
All luxury goods are overpriced...including bespoke (there are variables to consider in this though). Handmade might be nice, but compare one pair of handmade shoes and 10 pairs of AEs...I think I know who wins in that battle.
