If it's the Israeli army, then I wouldn't be surprised.
They are known, and lampooned, for being one of the most undisciplined and casual first-word armies.
That's the prob with a wide draft.
Professional soldiers fear a draft, because it dilutes the quality of their modern professional armies.
Everyone gets dragged in and you end up with a bunch of kids leading other kids in situations that demand someone with a bit of historical sense or experience, or at the very least a reliability that comes with age.
And kids are more interesting in getting drunk and getting laid and having fun and...actually, maybe would could learn something from them.

i think it would be nice to be colonel lean in this fun loving army
Do you ever PM Lord Hillyer?
I trained closely with the Israelis for a couple months back in the mid-eighties. They are very good at what they focus on - offensive armored operations - but are therefore overly skewed as to their overall capability. I think this has been demonstrated by their last couple incursions into Lebanon. They are fortunate in being up against inept competition when they fight in their preferred kind of war because of the great disparity in numbers.

Lotta those Israeli soldier-girls were pretty winsome all right! Unfortunately, many of them were wearing what looked like oversized, ill-fitting uniforms. More's the pity. Back in my cadet days, they issued me a tunic three sizes too small. I imagine some of those Israeli girls would have looked even better busting out of too-small uniforms!
