Re: Familiar figures at Claridges?

Bishop, there is also a rather more cruel assessment of the couple. She said something about never having had leeks until she met her now husband. Leeks are hardly an exotic food--these are just bumpkins chasing the dream of the Aristocratic Gentleman

^ I must admit to hating leeks! smile

Real aristocrats do not stay at Claridge's or hotels in general. They have London flats (e.g. in Albany), visit friends (in Belgravia or Chelsea) or use the husband's club.

Btw, has anyone here been to The Connaught since its refurbishment?

I've been to the bars but not stayed there.

Re: Familiar figures at Claridges?

I just came across this looking for something else. That bit has to be one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen.
