Re: Inane Post of the Day 2012: The End of the Sartorial World Edition

Crompton-esque plugging of a book on  on Timothy Everest's blog - http://www.timothyeverest.co.uk/blog/?p=1573

"Traveling there for a first game of golf is of historic importance. Subsequent return visits are no less significant. At St Andrews a respectable round of 18 holes is not about personal gratification. Performing well is more about honouring a place of true traditions and heritage.

With the mental fairway in the mind, arriving at St Andrews and having to bundle a bespoke travel blazer into the zipper section of a golf bag is no way to prepare mentally for the game’s greatest challenge; namely a round on the town’s Old Course.

But what to do when tee times for such hallowed turf are sacred? With hotel room and hanging space yet to be ready proceedings couldn’t be pushed back an hour or two. So what choice was there but to test the aforementioned blazer’s ability to cope with being crumpled?

This was a challenge to the wool-mohair blend far greater than any plane seat or overhead locker. Your average caddy would place clubs as the most precious cargo of all above all other accessories. No self respecting bag man would prioritize something fancy from Spitalfields over tools of what to them is a superior trade."

No self-respecting golfer would write such utter drivel.

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.
