Enjoyed that!

...the iGents will of course be correcting any factual errors.

Re: Prince Charles at his Tailors

So has The Prince of Wales gone back to Anderson & Sheppard? From a Telegraph article (no longer online) a few years ago -"John Hitchcock, the managing director of Anderson & Sheppard... confirmed that the Prince was no longer a customer."

In 2006, the Prince started ordering MTM suits from his shirtmaker Turnbull & Asser. He sent his old suits to Thomas Mahon for repair - http://www.englishcut.com/2007/03/14/a-royal-headache/#comments

Is the Prince getting promotional discounts?

Re: Prince Charles at his Tailors

l've been seeing pics of Charles lately in immaculate suits, and was only thinking this morning that he mustn't be wearing mtm suits like reported a few years ago. l saw one of his suits this morning and it look perfectly fitted and smashingly brilliant, the highest bespoke without a doubt, a nice high collar and all.

There's nothing new here though is there.  Just the same stuff fed to a lazy journalist by A&S PR.

Re: Prince Charles at his Tailors

Yes my understanding (not that I am any kind of insider!) is that 'Charles Smith' gets his tailored clothing off the rack at Turnbull & Asser

Hard to tell if this is a publicity stunt alone

Re: Prince Charles at his Tailors

^^ The problem for most politicians is that they cannot afford bespoke clothing on their official salaries. The expenses rules were tightened up in 2009 and 2010. Only a select few have other sources of income. William Hague uses Henry Poole but he made a lot of money from public speaking fees after he resigned as Tory leader in 2001.

Re: Prince Charles at his Tailors

I hope that's the only reason. My cynicism suggests otherwise!

^ I forgot that Ken Livingston is/was a bespoke customer of Gieves & Hawkes.

Re: Prince Charles at his Tailors

Somehow that seems all too appropriate

I wonder where 'two Jags' gets his suits ?!
