They alas did not have my size, and I do not need another pair of bespoke shoes. I am getting two sets of shoes properly repaired a fair dinkum cobbler, a pair set of Sperry boat shoes and a pair of leather moccasins. At size 14 if I find something that fits, I keep them. I have a pair of orthotic shoes coming and he wasn't allowed to have them made in cordovan even if I paid for the difference, as they are being supplied by Veterans' Affairs. grrrr
lt looks like Cleverley are coming to Melbourne for bespoke. l might skip the Lobbs etc and just go bespoke now.

l'd feel much better buying the bespoke than paying so much for goodyear welted shoes.
my dreams are about to begin. l think l might order a perfect black oxford captoe shoe and maybe a brown wholecut. lt will be amazing to owns pairs like that. l can't think of anything else at the moment.
No more Bemer, no more Vass, and no more rtw English shoes. l'm going after the big boys now. Such an exciting time. l hope Meister and Sator get a pair too.
How much is g.j charging? More for Australia?
A topy will certainly help to increase the time before a resole is needed, but it won't stop the welt from wearing out or the meterial ageing in general. So they will probably last 10 years if you wear them about once a week but a new sole will be needed to bring some stability back. I'd never spend this on Cleverley, the newer shoes I've seen by them have been very underwehelming. There are bootmakers in Europa who will give you a better result for 1k Pound less or even more.

The shop is doing well and Nick/Chris are ordering a whole new stock of C&J and expanding the line.
The Cleverley trunk show will be a party at the store in July and the shoes will be around $4,400 per pair. Instead of getting two pair l might just get one. l might just get a black round captoe bespoke oxford and then just get a rtw Anthony Cleverley instead of the bespoke version. Still, it will be a good start to becoming a big shooman - you can't call yourself the big daddy if you don't wear the big daddy of shoes. l'm pretty pumped about it all, think about it pretty much every day.
I have seen and bought and wear all the great UK brands but frankly I am turning to the Italians and Euros. Maybe I have an old age case of pimpin' disease but they are doing stuff that is a bit new cutting edge and different. Look at Meccariello and Bestetti not to mention St Crispins and good old Vasssshhhhh.
