Bespoke button down??
Who knows, shit collar though!
Indeed!
Never seen anything like it; looks like some contempo san francisco boutique shop shit.
I'd say the MacGregor collars are that small, like 2-finger, or there abouts, although that doesn't look like a MacGregor.
I've never seen a McGregor with a collar like that. They aren't the biggest but they certainly have longer points than that.
That is smaller even than those Uniqlo 'madras' BD's.

The buttons are set quite high on that collar which goes to make it look smaller (even though it already is pretty small), but the mini collars on the MacGregors are tiny too. The buttons are just set lower so it doesn't look as apparent.
There are a couple of good examples of the short button down collar in HATIL. The page with Jack Nicholson on entitled Corman College. I actually find these types of collar have a place in my wardrobe. Often get an airing in the summertime, with a pair of shorts and the feet slipped into Weejuns or a pair of old Keds.
i'll take a pic of the one i've got which is a size sixteen, with a two finger roll.
I've seen a few McGregors with minicollars. My '765' popover had a small collar too, so I have to side with Boppers on this one.
I agree with The Cat too, the smaller collar has its place too and that's on casual sport shirts in checks and stripes. But I wouldn't wear a solid color one with a mini collar. Or those spread collar BDs, they don't look quite right to me.

I'm siding with Thor!!!! too. I don't doubt that those shirts are out there (someone had to make them!) but I just haven't seen a McGregor shirt like that. I'd love to see one.
I don;t remember your 765 having one that small and the one I was bidding on (and lost) couple weeks back definitely seemed bigger.
I suppose scale comes into it too, eh? AP was a big chap and so is Thor!!!! so a small collar on them (or 2 finger collar) won't appear like that to me.
I'm sure they did have their place, but what can I say, I'm addicted to the roll man. They just don't sit right with me.
Nor with me.
It doesn't even look like one of those small camp collar button downs.
Just goes to show there was nothing holy about Ivy then. It was all just a bit of fashion and it's up to us to pick and choose what we like, wear it but at the same time accept the rest.
