The Caan collar actually reminds me of the collars I've seen on 80's Brooksgate madras shirts. The one I own has a smaller collar but again still rolls and you wouldn't consider wearing it with a tie.
I wonder if we would judge the shirt AP has one differently if it was a plaid and he wasn't wearing a tie. I mean, you would expect a better chance of it rolling without the tie at least.
Plus we are all overllooking the other sin. What is he playing at rolling his sleeves like that?
I'm with you Liam, and think Woolster has it spot on. For me, those small collared shirts only work when worn without a tie and if they are in checks/plaids. Good for a less formal, and as the name suggests, sporty look.

With all that dough, you'd think he'd have found himself a better tailor... who's jacket is he wearing?
Do you know where that ad is from, looks to be French?
Probs Canada
A Canadian Eaton's (department store) catalog from 1966.
Mostly filled with garbage youth mod trends, acrylic/rayon shirts and hideous synthetic sta-prest, from what's been uploaded at least.
Wish I could dig up an old Schreter's catalogue from Montreal, c. '58-62, the treasures that would hold!

Is Parkaavenue.com anything to do with you Oliver?
I wouldn't be surprised if it were. I watched La Samourai the other night and I think the policeman after Delons character wears a very sack like jacket.... though hard to tell if it is dartless.
But 30 francs for a jacket seems very cheap. I'm guessing French Canadian.
I really need a cord 3/2 sack suit.
I think it's probably as laid back and casual as a suit can get.
Parkaavenue has nothing to do with me whatsoever and the look documented isn't really my style, a friend runs that blog though and he likes the whole parkamod 80s revival thing ben sherman northern soul etc. Not for me in the least, but this page that he uploaded was great. The plum coloured flannel sack is beautiful and makes me envious!
