TV shows are now merely vehicles to demonstrate different ways to wear jacket and tie! I suppose this is a refreshing stance from the Boomer generation's aversion to any sort of dressing up.

Howard Hughes wore sneakers with a suit I believe.
My feet are too wide to buy stylish red sneakers and thus it is moot for me. I did wear a scarlet cashmere vest with a navy suit to dinner the other night.
