As part of their American Masters series, the local PBS channel in the New York area, WNET13, will broadcast a profile of the late Ahmet Ertegun, founder of Atlantic Records and noted Dandy, tomorrow at 1 pm and 3 pm. Should be interesting...

Both men worth being on anybody's radar.
Marc, thanks for this info.
There was a great New Yorker profile of AE, written by George W.S. Trow in the late 70's. Anyone who has the New Yorker DVDs should look that up. Definitely worthwhile.
It was well worth seeing the AE special this afternoon if for no other reason than to get a brief glimpse of his collection of 100 prs of bespoke John Lobb (Paris) shoes, neatly housed in an expansive glass closet. Ertegun definitely lived up to his stylish reputation, wearing a dizzying array of beautifully tailored suits, jackets, shirts, and Rooster-type knit neckties. Oh, yeah, he also knew a thing or two about music.

By the way, ironically, Ertegun met his demise as a result of a serious fall backstage at a Stones concert. The man lived, and died, for music.
