Here is a goodyear welting machine at work with corny music. It's just worth watching for the music alone. l promise you will really like watching this little video.

It seems like there are various goodyear machines, some lay down the gemming and then feed the welt with a "dog feed" to a part of the machine to do the inseaming along with the essential sewing of the welt to the outsole, while other goodyear machines are just simple outsole stitchers.
