And Eckharti is a small man, in all his posts.

I am disappointed in you Chevere, I thought you were interested in an actual exchange not just little insults back and forth...It surprises me though that you took this route because you could hardly stomach my insults anyway.

I lost faith in your intelligence the moment you teamed up with Ivy Jim...

The victory goes to the mangler of god's work and an emotionally overwrought used clothes salesman!

Chevere is a great guy, but there's no teamwork thing going on between us beyond the brotherhood of man. Just saying that for clarity.

If you think Chevere is a great guy then he must be a complete idiot...

Just to say that I don't speak for Chevere. His eloquence is all his own.

And pray what time this eve is Eckharti due to come on line with his daring do?

As that's the time I will go to bed.

Trolling the troll into a frenzy of hysterical utterances and gibberish, not a bad idea.

Re: What TV have you been watching?

Reposted from another thread, I just finished watching "The Hour" seasons 1 & 2

It is good TV drama, except that I found the adulating self serving auto hagiography of BBC newsmen on this delayed (the action happens in 1957) exposé of the nexus of celebrity, power and sex somewhat rich, given the release of the series happened at the same time they were hiding their own Savile boondoggle. The search for truth? what a joke.

Especially when the present day sins come not from evil nuclear power businessmen, but from award winners and feted performers within the hollowed halls of "do good" journalism and organizations like the Health Trusts dedicated to taking your money to do "good deeds".

The BBC is now positively Baudelaireian. I enjoy their shows, but they are literally "Les Fleurs du Mal"

House of Cards- BBC 1993
John Major was PM and I guess the lefties at BBC were having apoplectic fits.
All the self righteous pious prattle about the role of social conscience in a prosperous society now sounds hilarious. It's as if they laid down the challenge to history 20 years ago and now we are seeing the results. Urqhart, bless his stony little heart, was right after all.
GB is broke, and everybody who's on the take is upset that it is all oh so unfair that their lot is so little. And the rebellious Immans clamoring for the destruction of their pliant host know a sucker when they see one and line up first at the trough to pick choice tidbits from the dying carcass.

Look at Life. Cinema documentaries from 1960s Winds of Change era.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01qsqcy/Britain_on_Film_End_of_Empire/

This episode focuses on films examining the changing shape of the British Empire. At a time when many of its former colonies were achieving independence, Look at Life sent its film crews as far afield as Aden, Malaysia and Ascension Island to record the efforts made by Britain to manage the transition from imperial rule to the leadership of an emerging Commonwealth.

Re: What TV have you been watching?

I now find I have to switch off Question Time on a regular basis.

Last week they had the odious Diane Abbott on the panel. It is the usual suspects plus the superannuated Dimbleby as the Voice of The Establishment. He got the job through nepotism.

Re: What TV have you been watching?

My pet hate is the minister of faith and communities....the unelectable Baroness Warsi, she linked to banned jihadist groups via business partner and likely agent of Pakistan (allegedly) in the heart of government.

Good job Question Time is on too late for me. It would only likely increase my bouts of insomnia with rage.

Re: What TV have you been watching?

My own pet peeve is Harriet Harperson.  Utterly vacuous.

I quite like Daniel Hannan. He's a good bloke, well for a politician.

Here he is demolishing Gordon Brown. This went viral at the time.

Re: What TV have you been watching?

All good examples of why you would want to switch off. Also particular favourites of 'Question Time' - along with Will Self who always seems very pleased with himself .

That said, Warsi is one of those female MPs that is strangely fanciable. Nadine D. is another - very well preserved for her age. Obviously you would not want either of them to do too much talking.

Dimbleby is as bad as any of them. Talking down to people like an ex-member of the Bullingdon Club. 'You Sir  - the man in the spectacles. Oh! it is a woman.'

'Thought for the Day' on Radio4 also has favourite speakers. They have to be bland with appeal to non-believers and across faiths. I would prefer zealots and firebrands. You never get any Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, Free Presbyterians, Amish etc.

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.
