Stopped to take a look at Venanzi's window today and was struck by a beautiful black wool sport jacket, the first one I've seen in a long while, which looked really nice. The other side of the window displays a grey suit that I was surprised to see because the stitching was horrible--Sloppy, uneven, as if done with a pick-ax, veering away from the edge of the lapels, and way, way too large and prominent. You could see the stitching from across the street (well, almost). Well-done stitching of this kind on the exterior of the garment should be fine and subtle, almost invisible to the eye. Generally, the handwork on garments in their window is fine, but this time, I dunno what they are thinking.
Maybe, they are preparing, for another, book party.
