My newly aquired 'dead eye' is also a great asset I think - I just need to work out how to use it...
I suspect that slightly turning my head to indicate interest or total oblivion to them might be very off putting. However, there is always the chance that they might sock me one when I can't see them...
I'll have to work on all that.
I always carry piano wire: good clean, silent kills.
Mr. A.H. -
I think this is very true. The immature cause far more harm around themselves than genuine psychopaths or sociopaths, if you look at the population of the planet as a whole.
Psychopaths & Sociopaths are very rare also. The immature are legion.
The immature will also often call those they dislike Psychopaths or Sociopaths little realising that what they say is meaningless unless they are qualified to make such a diagnosis.
Alchoholism is just the same. To mean anything it was to be a diagnosis. Just an unqualified opinion on a boozer you happen to dislike does not an Alchoholic make.
The immature are the worst people in the world and should be gassed.

The fun is making people guess which eye works and which one doesn't...
As for Psychopaths - The fun with them is that until diagnosed they aren't really Psychopaths. Only when they've wrought their harm and been assesed do they have their label. Undiagnosed they are free to roam and, as you say, must number far more than we realise.
Calling people you dislike 'Autistic' is the new one. You noticed that too yet ?
Again it's yet another diagnosis...
Some are more f'd up than others Robbie: I once worked with someone who was definitely a sociopath and had a long string of wife and kids he had left all of a sudden and never contacted or paid his dues to them again, in Blighty, Thailand and now in the Netherlands. He turned out to have been a H addict too and there was no level to his sinister actions and plots which when found out would be straight out of a work of fiction on a master con-artist. He was relentless in his scamming and utterly brazen and once you saw behind the facade, there was one ugly and toxic character.
These people exist and once you have a taste of their actions, you will be on guard for the signs in future and take immediate action.
Some bi-polar people can operate in some strange regions of human character and seem to have a knack of carrying others into the Maelstrom of madness.
I like to play with their 'skills' - Although does doing that make me one of them ?
Once you've seen what works and tried it yourself it can be addictive... But I suspect that to be a proper nutter you actually have to be wired that way, not just playing at Mad Hatters for a laugh.

Those 'skills' tend to be a strange charisma born not out of an innate understanding of humanity, but of operating outside of accepted cultural norms, as they don't understand them.
This can appear in superficial party interactions or in bars, as someone possessing great people skills, which the opposite is quite true.
It's definitely time to rename this thread The Insane rather than the Inane thread. What a burner this topic of badness has turned out to be. Old Cain really was on a winner.

I think you could argue a case (and people have) for many of the 'great' leaders in history being psychopaths, from Biblical King David onward.
